How to Use Coptrol in Farm Dams and Ponds

Farm dams very often develop algal problems.  They can range from physical inconvenience such as blocking of screens and filters, pumps and irrigation equipment to stock losses from toxicity caused by accumulation of blue green algae. The problems are aggravated where water is enriched by nutrient run-off, so heavily fertilized areas are a particulary good target.
In drought seasons where water levels are low, algae may be a major problem also.

Algae and Algal Blooms

There is no easy definition of an alga. Algae are generally microscopic organisms, are generally thought of as simple aquatic plants which do not have roots, stems or leaves and have primitive methods of reproduction.
